Despite the events surrounding the Capital Building and the 2021 Inauguration, DC experienced a strong January with a 9.5% increase in sold properties over January 2020. The overall average sale price for all property types in the District was $744,545 - up 2.3% from last January. Average days on the market was also down from last year at 31 days. Most significantly for sellers, the average sold price to original list price ratio was 99.0%. Condo sales saw a 1.79% decrease in average sale price from January 2020 ($560,772).
